Why did you join TEDxCrenshaw: I joined TedXCrenshaw to be apart of the innovative platform and dialogue that is instrumental in bringing new ideas and awareness to the Crenshaw Community
When did you join: I joined TedX Crenshaw last year after attending their 2nd annual event located at Dorsey High School, I was so inspired I had to become apart of this great event.
What do you do for TEDx: I am apart of the Speaker Team for TedX Crenshaw
Bio: Anthony Onwuegbuzia is the Founder of POSI WORLD, a community based organization that promotes positivity and responsibility among kids living in underserved communities. POSI WORLD currently facilitates a Kids Social Skills Enhancement After-School Program in Inglewood, CA. Mr. Onwuegbuzia was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. He is committed to doing his part in giving back to his community and beyond by establishing a platform for kids to come learn and engage in the enhancement of pertinent social skills. As a strong advocate of education and intellectual growth, Mr. Onwuegbuzia continues to further his education in the newly innovative field of Plant Sciences at Cal Poly Pomona. His goal is to expand POSI WORLD Kid’s Social Skills Enhancement Program throughout underserved communities both domestically and internationally. Why did you join TEDxCrenshaw: I joined the TEDXCrenshaw because I firmly believe that this community needs an event like this, an idea sharing event that inspires action! Furthermore, knowing Zaneta since we were kids I looked forward to assisting a friend with tasks that they want.

What do you do for TEDx: I’m on the speaker team with TedX so I assist speakers in curating their speeches and making sure their overall TEDX experience is a great one.
Bio: I’m born and raised in Inglewood, CA. I’ve been supported by my family, friends, and community my entire life whether it was while I was pursuing my Bachelor’s in Political Science at UC Davis or when I went on to pursue my Juris Doctor at Southern University Law Center. Why did you join TEDxCrenshaw: I joined because i believe in the mission of TEDx and that there are really true and golden “Ideas worth Spreading” I believe in our team and that we have what it takes to not only make change but our speakers can spark minds and inspire change in the Crenshaw community. Bio:Brittney is a Geography Professor from Carson, Ca. Brittney earned her Bachelor's degree from Cal-State University Long Beach, and Masters degree from NYU, both in Geography and Urban Planning. Passionate about ending homelessness, Brittney has worked for various nonprofits researching data to find trends in order to procure funding and bring new partners to the table. In her spare time she serves breakfast every Friday on Skid Row, helps organize TEDxCrenshaw, swims, travels,cooks, collects sneakers, and spends time with family all while pursuing her PHD.

Why did you join TEDxCrenshaw: I was an initial TEDx Crenshaw speaker. I was honored to talk about the impact of education on my life. After the experience as a speaker, I felt the need to give back to a cause I knew had given so much to me. I wanted to continue to be a part of the change initiated by TedX Crenshaw. I grew up in a community very similar to the Crenshaw community and I believe in going against the grain and creating new realities for communities others have given up on.. I have the utmost respect for my teammates and their passion for our community.

What do you do for TEDx: I am officially a part of the speaker team. However, I do whatever is necessary to keep the vision going strong and active.
Bio: Glenetta was born in LA and raised in East Oakland. She is the 10th child in a family of 12 siblings. Her passion lies in education as she is the product of Oakland Public Schools. She knows first hand what it means to use an education to shift the trajectory of her life. She returned to LA after her educational studies at UC Berkeley and Harvard and has dedicated her career to the field of education as a teacher, founding charter principal and educational consultant. She is currently the LA Program Coordinator for Sandy Hook Promise, a blogger and dedicated mom of 4! Glenetta was one of the inaugural Tedx Speakers and spoke on how education changed her life.

Why did you join TEDxCrenshaw: As an avid watcher of of TED and TEDx videos I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to be involved with something as monumental as TEDx Crenshaw. As I’ve been educated and socialized in the Crenshaw District, it means something dear to me. Also the area is world renowned, but for a darker time in the areas history, so I find it important for the people of the community to control the narrative of the community.

Why did you join TEDxCrenshaw: I started TEDxCrenshaw because I wanted to go to innovative events within 20 minutes of where I lived with people who looked like me. i also knew so many people doing dope things in the city and wanted them to have a platform to talk about it.

Bio: Recently named as Los Angeles' Impact Maker to Watch by City Impact Lab, Zaneta is a fierce Social Worker advocating for the formerly incarcerated & transitional aged youth at LA Kitchen. Why did you join TEDxCrenshaw: As a student in the LA area I wanted to understand and get to know the community a little better and felt TedX was the best way to do so.

What do you do for TEDx: Currently helping with the social media and a liaison to one of the speakers and TedX.
Bio: I served as an Americorps member with City Year Los Angeles right out of college. Then I hopped on a plane to teach 5th grade in a low income area in El Progreso, Honduras, while training for a mixed martial arts fight for a year. Currently, I am back at school as an MSW candidate at USC.
